Horseback Riding at Proven Spots Ranch

---

More Than a Riding Lesson. Come Experience the Horse.

There is something different about learning to ride where the arena is only the beginning.

At Proven Spots Ranch, riders ages 7 through 100 are invited into a hands-on equestrian experience built around confidence, horsemanship, adventure, and connection with the horse.

Our beautiful 140-acre ranch in Dewey, Arizona gives riders room to learn, explore, and grow. From the first time putting a foot in the stirrup to developing advanced skills, working cattle, competing, or heading out across the Arizona landscape, every rider has somewhere to go from here.

And because no two horses—or riders—are alike, we don't believe in a one-horse-fits-all approach. With more than 20 horses available, riders have the opportunity to learn from different breeds, personalities, gaits, training levels, and styles of movement.

Somewhere along the way, you may even find the horse that completely changes the way you think about riding.

Proven Spots Ranch specializes in rare and exotic South American horses, including the powerful Chilean Horse and the exceptionally smooth Mangalarga Marchador.

For many riders, simply meeting these breeds is an experience. For others, the opportunity to ride one opens an entirely new world.

Depending on rider experience, suitability, and horse availability, students may have the opportunity to experience horses with backgrounds in:

Western, English, Gaited horses, Endurance, Ranch Work, Cattle, Trail & Performance

Learning to ride different horses develops something that riding the same horse every week simply cannot:

A truly versatile seat. You learn to feel the difference between horses, how to adjust, and you learn what works—and what doesn't.

You learn to communicate instead of simply going through the motions.

This is where riders become horsemen.

Arizona ESA Families Welcome

Vendor Pay Accepted

Proven Spots Ranch is an approved Arizona ESA vendor, allowing eligible families to incorporate equestrian instruction into their child's educational experience through vendor pay.

Riding offers a unique combination of physical activity, practical learning, responsibility, problem-solving, communication, and horsemanship.

For many students, learning happens differently when they are outside, moving, working with an animal, and actively participating instead of sitting behind a desk.

Our goal is to create an environment where students can learn, grow, build confidence, and discover abilities they may not have realized they possessed.

Never ridden before?

Perfect.

Been riding your entire life?

We can work with that too.

Each rider is paired with a horse suited to their experience, personality, goals, confidence level, and riding style.

Lessons can incorporate much more than simply steering around an arena.

Riders may develop:

• Balance and coordination
• Core strength
• To become adaptive and versatile
• Confidence and assertiveness
• Timing and feel
• Quick decision-making
• Understanding of equine behavior
• Trail safety & shutting down different situations
• Different riding styles
• Problem solving

And perhaps most importantly:

Confidence earned through "real world" experience.

Horses have a remarkable way of teaching riders to become clear, present, patient, and decisive.

Because the best riding memories rarely happen going in circles.

As riders develop the necessary skills, an entirely different side of Proven Spots Ranch becomes available.

Trail Riding

Step outside the arena and experience Arizona from horseback.

Our location offers riders the opportunity to leave the traditional lesson environment behind and learn what riding was originally meant for—going somewhere.

Trail riding teaches balance, judgment, awareness, confidence, terrain negotiation, and trust between horse and rider in ways an arena simply cannot duplicate.

We also offer weekly family trail rides for qualified riders following an evaluation and completion of our trail-safety course.

Imagine trading another Saturday inside for horses, open country, mountain views, and a few hours your family will actually remember.

Your riding experience should be more than an appointment on the calendar.

It should give you something to look forward to:

A horse you can't wait to see.

A challenge you finally conquer.

A trail you've never ridden.

A new friend.

And that feeling when you realize the thing that once intimidated you has somehow become the thing you love most.

Come for a riding lesson.

You may discover an entirely new lifestyle.

At Proven Spots Ranch, horses aren't simply brought out for lessons and put away again.

This is a working horse environment.

Throughout the year, the ranch may welcome new foals—and if your timing is right, you could be here for one of those unforgettable moments when a young horse is discovering the world for the very first time.

Watch a foal learn to stand.

See young horses grow and develop.

Meet horses from unusual bloodlines and different parts of the world.
